Building Better Together: The Novaworks Design Partner Program

Most organizations think they have an HR problem. What we’ve learned through our design partner work is that they actually have an opportunity visibility problem.
When you articulate an organization’s HR ecosystem with an AI-first lens, the gaps aren’t just inefficiencies to fix. They’re opportunities to rethink how work gets done. Teams often see their workflows fully visualized for the first time and realize how much of their operation is still manual, fragmented, or redundant.
That shift, from fixing friction to uncovering opportunity, is why we built the Novaworks Design Partner Program.
What Is the Novaworks Design Partner Program?
The Design Partner Program brings a small group of early customers directly into the product development process. This is not a beta program or a focus group. It’s a working partnership.
Design partners don’t wait for a finished product. They help define the problem space, validate hypotheses, and shape solutions while there is still room to change direction.
The program moves through four phases:
Activation → Context Setting → Co-Creation → Validation & Impact
Along the way, partners participate in journey mapping, persona development, workshops, usability testing, and prototyping. They also join a dedicated community where partners share perspectives and learn from one another.
Design partners are co-creators, not just recipients of the finished product.
What We’ve Learned
Working alongside design partners has reinforced a simple truth: dynamic, intelligent workflows change everything.
On paper, systems look clean. In practice, they’re layered with workarounds, duplicate processes, and manual steps no one questions because “that’s how it’s always been done.”
When we review those systems holistically, two things happen:
Hidden inefficiencies become visible
New opportunities emerge that weren’t previously on the roadmap
In one early engagement, a team saw their full HR workflow for the first time and was surprised by how much manual work sat underneath their day-to-day operations. That moment didn’t just validate the product—it reshaped the priorities.
This is why we don’t start with features. We start with reality.
Why We Built It This Way
There are three things we care about as we bring this product to market:
1. Test and iterate early
Ideas that look strong in theory often break under real conditions. Working closely with partners allows us to identify friction quickly and build with confidence.
2. Ground everything in real use cases
There is no substitute for seeing how a team actually operates. Real environments reveal where value lives and where it doesn’t.
3. Keep humans in the loop
Not every task should be automated. Our partners help us identify where AI adds value and where human judgment is essential. The goal is outcome-driven: AI that supports people, not replaces them.
Why It Matters
Evaluating your organization through an AI-first lens doesn’t just improve existing workflows. It changes how you think about the role of HR.
HR is no longer just a system of record. It becomes a system for change, responsible for how work gets done across employees, contractors, and increasingly, AI agents.
That shift creates a new dynamic:
IT brings the infrastructure and investment
HR defines how the workforce operates
Together, they drive better business outcomes. Put simply: HR just got a promotion.
Why Participate
If you’re evaluating where AI can have meaningful impact, there is no faster path to clarity than being part of the process.
As a design partner, you will:
Co-create the product roadmap
Join working design sessions
Access features early
Shape releases before they launch
Influence product strategy directly
This is a more active role than a traditional customer relationship. That’s intentional.
What We Need From You
This is a partnership, which means we both show up. Successful design partners bring:
Executive sponsorship to support the work and remove blockers
Time and engagement across workshops, reviews, and feedback sessions
Access to real users, not just decision-makers
Clear, honest input throughout testing and validation
The strongest partners also share three characteristics: the capacity to implement, a team profile that reflects the broader market, and a real urgency to solve the problems at hand.
When those align, the work moves fast and the outcomes are meaningful.
